Your children are pretty lucky I think. You're determined to make his or her bedroom into something fanciful, fun and inventive. When I was a kid, of course we got the basics... a bed, some pillows and blankets. But nowhere near the sorts of stylish and fun bedding you'll find for children these days. When you think about it, it can be a little bit overwhelming to consider the sheer number of different themes available in kids bedding these days. It doesn't need to be, if you begin by narrowing down your options a little bit to start with.
First of all is your child a boy or a girl...?
Usually, little girls bedding tends to come in colors that are softer like shades in pink orange green and yellow. They'll generally be very happy with themes centering on pups and other creatures, flowers, butterflies, dancers, teddy bears and things like this. If your child is still a bit young to really tell you what she'd like in her bedroom, then just take a look at her personality to give you an idea of what she would like.
Why not let her help you decide on some of the bedding she'd like.... You really want her to love her new bedroom, right...?
If you are selecting bedding for a boy, you'll be happy at the hundreds of themes designed especially for them -- from construction, space exploration, cars, trucks and more -- you'll find the neatest bedding for boys anywhere right on the Web.
I would stay with brand name bedding. Why would I say that....? They will have established a reputation for superior quality which involves details like stitching seams properly, using quality bed linen fabrics that are long-lasting and keep their colors through many washes, but that are above all, safe. Brand name bedding companies will make more of an effort to pay attention to the details that matter to keep their reputations.
Some well known brand names you might know are:
Laura Ashley
Dan River
DwellKids
When you've selected the bedding theme you'd like in your child's room, you can then add some finishing touches with optional, fun accessories. Usually you'll be able to pick from coordinating or matching accessories like this:
area rugs
lampstands with shades
switch plate covers
decorative wall borders
plush toys
storage boxes
window treatments.. like valance and drapes
shelves
chairs
You don't have to just stick with what may come as an optional accessory either. Feel free to use whatever beloved items you want- like that rocker or dresser you love. The idea is to have fun and create a room that your children will love to pass time playing in and dreaming in.
