There is nothing quite like a romantic setting for a really romantic date. People often use accessories to capture the essence of romance and relaxation. Many folks really appreciate candlelight lit by easy scented candle sets as well as flowers in order to set the mood.
Maybe it's because the flickering glow of a candle relaxes you that it feels so romantic. A way to enhance the effect of these is to use scented candle sets with various colors that appeal to the senses. Though these are extremely luring, they can be expensive especially when used regularly. Making one's own fragrant, colorful candles to enjoy, is a good way to go, without the high cost.
This can be done by placing some old candles in a vessel and then placing this vessel in a bigger vessel containing water and put this on a fire. The boiling water will melt the wax but be sure never to pace the container with the wax directly on the fire since it can be dangerous. When old candles are not available, candles can be bought in bulk, lowering cost, compared to the exorbitant prices for candles in stores.
Although aluminum containers may get hot when you pour hot wax in them, they are the best choice. If you were to use glasses as moulds, you could get some designs on or paper cups should do as well for a simple shape.
Make the wick by taking out one from an old candle or using white cotton straw. However, you are going to need to make sure that you rub enough of the wax on the straw so that it is taut, because this will make it a lot easier for you to insert the wick into the wax once you have placed it within the mould. When you add the color to the wax, do it slowly as you keep mixing it so you can stop as soon as you get the color you want. Pour the liquid wax in the container and add the wick slowly, ensuring that it goes right in the middle and straight down.
Multicolored candles will need you to mix the different colors in different containers and then add the wax in the colors you want in the mould. Make absolutely sure that the mould that you have selected to use for the multicolored candles is tall and allows all of the layers to show, the way that you pour all of the different colors is very important as well. Each color wax should be poured after the color prior to that has cooled off. This is an important step as otherwise, the colors will mix and one could end up with a murky looking lump.
Fragrant candles need oil-based fragrance added to the melted wax.
These fragrances are easily available in the market and range from floral ones like jasmine and rose to others like tea tree, lemon grass and musk. The mold is put into a freezer once the color and fragrance have been added and wick put in place. Hand out these candles as gifts. They will appreciate the time and effort it took to create these custom treasures.
